ZEST 20000KM REVIEW

Tata Zest  has been launched way back long among us, and it’s served the people rather well. It’s been a good sedan has been driven by Indian community for day to day commute and various points in its life with us. It has been a subtle vehicle for the most part.

EXTERIOR (3.5)

The zest have a descent exterior as of a sedan made by Tata, but the car lags in better aerodynamics and sedan beauty as of now it have been in a good market and from the market response it have parts that are suitable and are good. The car may not be iconic or eye catching due to the structure made by Tata as they use the same platform and beautifies their old mistakes.

INTERIOR (3)

The zest is designed in a nice tone and have very fine interior but we cannot compare the interior with the other manufacturer as every manufacture have their own twist, for some reasons the interior is very flaccid and normal as there are some missing parts like driver’s hand rest and even rear seat hand rest and the glove box is also small acc. To requirements of normal person.
The nicest that missed out are armrests, dead pedal, and seat belt height adjuster.

The cabin has generally been a very pleasant place to be in. I’ve personally loved the in-car entertainment unit from Harmann. Sure, it doesn’t have the touch screen that the top-spec Zest gets, but it still gets eight speakers and a multitude of connectivity options which include USB, Aux and Bluetooth. Now there were a couple of occasions when the system failed to recognize my iPhone that was connected using a USB cable, but switching the ignition off and back on again immediately fixed that.

UTILITY AND COMFORT (3)

The zest is a sedan and comes in supermini size. The car is good for a daily commute and normal usage. The thing it have the best is boot space a whopping 390l of boot space it is 70l more than of its competitor Suzuki dzire. The car have many different small essentials and even have many drawbacks
the talk of comfort is just fine for the car because it is a mid range car and you can’t keep high expectations like of Japanese or American cars and let European be in your dreams, I am not being a critic but I am just letting you know the truth of the car. Small bottle/cup holders with just fine seat comfort and stock covers. Legroom in front as well as back is not up to the mark due to the compactness of the car.

PERFORMANCE AND FUEL ECONOMY:

The Zest is powered by the Fiat-derived 1.3-litre Quadrajet diesel motor and a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine

The gearbox, however, has been a whole other matter. This Zest is equipped with the F-Tronic AMT or Automated Manual Transmission, which has proven to be quite the slouch in pretty much any traffic condition. This gearbox has been quite irritating in slow-moving traffic as well. Everyone who has driven this Zest loves the convenience of its automated transmission but in stop-and-go traffic, it can’t creep the car forward (or backwards, if you’re in reverse) when you take your foot off the brake. This has led to some rather jerky movement in those situations.

But for all the sneers our Zest got for the idiosyncrasies of its gearbox, it received a lot of cheers in pretty much every other area. Mileage, for one, has been very good. Even in the heaviest of traffic, it never dropped below 13kpl. The other thing we absolutely love about this Zest is the ride quality. It takes the terrible condition of most of roads, and even our friends and family, who have ridden in the car, have appreciated just how comfortably it glides over bumps and potholes.

ARAI fuel efficiency ratings are 23.0 kmpl for the diesel and 17.6 kmpl for the petrol.
Real time fuel efficiency ratings are 20.0 kmpl for the diesel and 15 kmpl for the petrol.

So, besides that, Tata Zest has been a faithful companion. Yes, the gearbox has been far less than
perfect, but no one can deny it made our lives easy in Delhi traffic. Tata zest is roomy, comfortable and spacious sedan for a normal family who are looking for a budget car.
“The car which is liked by all is missed by all”
