ECOSPORT DETAILED REVIEW

The car which started the compact segment in India recently got a facelift and we cannot stop but only admire the facelift model of the Ford Ecosport . Gone are the days when people thought maintaining a Ford was only for the riches.

EXTERIOR (4 )

Yes the Ecosport has been in the market for a quite a long time now and Ford has done subtle changes to the Ecosport so that it stays in the competition.
On the exterior front you get revised front bumper with new fog lamps , new headlight assembly with DRL’s , a new grille and a new tyre cover for rear mounted tyre . On the top end variant Ford provides low profile tyres which is a noteworthy point as no other manufacturer provides it till date. Rest of the silhouette of the car remains the same.

INTERIOR (4.5)

The interiors of the Ecosport have seen a major revamp from its last generation from its ac vents to its infotainment system . The interiors now looks more upmarket than its last generation and all the credit goes to the all black theme . You get lots of places for keeping water bottles and other things . The new Ecosport gets better shoulder room than last generation  and now can accommodate 3 well built adults easily. The layout of the dashboard is very neat and clean from last generation thanks to the 8 inch infotainment system which comes with ford’s sync 3 .

 

 

UTILITY AND COMFORT (4)

In the comfort department the car scores full points as the seating position is spot on for a person like me because i don’t easily get the right position . Ford also provides rear vents for the rear occupants which is a boon in Delhi’s summer . Knee room is great for a person of around 5 feet and 10 inches long and headroom is also decent in the rear seats . The Ecosport offers about 346 litres of boot space which is decent too but it lags in front of its some rivals like the Nexon .

PERFORMANCE AND FUEL ECONOMY: (4)

The 1.5-litre engine is a three-cylinder engine that produces nearly 121bhp of power, 150Nm of torque and comes with a six-speed automatic transmission. This isn’t the DSG, but a regular automatic. The diesel engine is unchanged and there will be five variants on offer. In terms of features too, some of them are segment first as well like the cruise control , illuminated glove box
The Ecosport delivers about 17kmpl in petrol according to ARAI and 23kmpl for the diesel variant . But in the real world it delivers about 15kmpl for petrol and 20kmpl in diesel variant in city conditions .

The power it offers right from the start is mind blowing and there is very minimal turbo lag in the diesel variant , Ford claims about 175kmph top speed for the Ecosport which is quite amazing despite its 1 litre engine

The Ecosport is a mixed bags of opinions for various peoples but in my  view it ticks all the boxes correctly and is a perfect car who are looking for a no non – sense car . It will be amazing to see how ford brings its another major update for a car which offers so much and still can get improvements
